Eifel GP | F1 2020 | A Tough Weekend for Bottas

Highlights:-
  • Ricciardo's first podium for Renault Team.
  • Lewis matched the career win record of Michael Schumacher with his 91st F1 win at Eifel GP.
  • Valtteri Bottas out of the due to sudden power failure.

Eifel GP was started on Friday, followed by Practice Race 1.  Which was cancelled due to bad weather condition. Practice Race 2 was also cancelled to due bad weather condition. The final practice race was held and Valtteri Bottas took the pole position for the first time in 7 years at Nürburgring Race Circuit, Germany. 

In the main race, Lewis Hamilton was outmuscled by partner Valtteri Bottas after Lap 6, as Bottas experienced a Power failure at Turn 1. Which left Bottas eliminated and was first DNF ( Did not finished) for Mercedes in 2020 season.

Lewis somehow managed and emerged as the pole taker at Eifel GP.

Max Verstappen was second and Daniel Ricciardo was third. This was Ricciardo's first podium for Renault Team.

McLaren's Lando Norris also retired on Lap 66. 

Sergio Perez was just behind Daniel and came home with P4, ahead of the McLaren's Carlos Sainz. Pierre Gasly's fantastic run made him stand on 6th position in the list. 

Hulkenberg returned to F1 in place of Lance Stroll. He also made a successful run and jumped from P20 to P8.

Bottas joined Alex Albon of Redbull, E. Ocon of Renault, Lando Norris of McLaren, George Russell of Williams, in retirement. George Russell coincided with Raikkonen at Turn 1. Raikkonen also made his record breaking 323rd start in F1.

Talking of records, Lewis Hamilton jointly became one of the most successful F1 driver with Michael Schumacher, with 91 wins in his bag. 

CRASHES AT EIFEL GP:-

Firstly George Russell of Williams was hit by Kimi Raikkonen at Turn 3.
