Bugatti's new track monster, the BOLIDE

Today, Bugatti announced their new track-focused monster the BOLIDE.  Ever since the VW Group took over the Bugatti they have been manufacturing the heavy yet fastest cars in the world. But this time the things worked differently. This new Bugatti is a "lightweight" track-focused, it weighs just 1240kg (dry weight).

The Bolide is a concept car from Bugatti which has astonishing numbers on the dynamometer. Talking about the Engine, it contains a W16 cylinder engine that develops 1825 bhp.

Bugatti has been the well-recognized car manufacturer in terms of speed. The Veyron and the Chiron SuperSport are the beasts in this field. But the Bolide is not here just to be a lightweight hypercar. Bolide has a speed over 300 mph, talking concerning track it can complete one lap of LeMans of 3:07, and Nüburgring lap of 5:23, it is faster than the  LMP1 car and in the league of Porcshe 919 Evo. This is a complete mind-blowing car.

How Bolide differs from the Chiron SuperSport?

The Bolide's Engine has 12-cylinders arranged in W (known as W12). It is equipped with 4-Turbochargers which boosts the 1500 hp of the Chiron SuperSport to 1825 of Bolide. The oiling system is more enhanced and the new air-to-air cooler with water pre-cooling system maintains the intake temperature to the required value.

The Bolide is made completely on new chassis. This chassis will allow the driver's seating position which will be similar to the LMP1 seating position. The suspension system is also a push-rod type, brake calipers are similar to F1 (made up of ceramic), and wheels are made up of magnesium.

Another small yet most aerodynamically efficient addition to the Bolide is the top roof scoop. The material from which it is made changes itself according to the speed, i.e, at the lower speed it is uniform but at higher speed, it swells up like a bubble which helps to reduce drag and passes the air to the big rear wing.

The headlights are in X shape which pays a tribute to Chuck Yeager's Bell X1 Aircraft.

Talking about the dimensions, it is smaller in height than the company's most successful race car the Type 35.

The production of this car will be for track-only and will be based on FIA Safety terms.
