We've seen—and heard–the supercharged V-8–powered full-size SUV testing at full throttle, but this teaser video gives us an even better listen.
Cadillac Escalade V
Cadillac has been testing a high-performance version of its Escalade full-size SUV for a while now and now has confirmed that the new model will wear the V badge. Cadillac initially tweeted the announcement with the hashtag #EscaladeV but then deleted the tweet (seen below) with the mention of the name. More official information about Escalade V will be revealed tomorrow, January 21.
The Escalade V is expected to use the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 that's currently used in the 10Best-winning CT5-V Blackwing sedan. This engine makes 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque in the Blackwing and was also used in the C7 Corvette Z06. However, we expect the LT4 to be detuned slightly for use in the Escalade V, and it'll be mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Still, this engine will make about 200 more horsepower than the standard Escalade's 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8.

You may remember that, when Cadillac revealed the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings last year, it announced they would be the last gas-powered V cars. But we supposed that "cars" was the keyword in that claim. This teaser photo shows the full V lineup, including the Escalade V SUV, and it towers over the sedans.
We'll know more tomorrow, but in the meantime listen to the monstrous V-8 rip in this teaser video, and in the video, our spy photographers caught last week.
