The Streetfighter V4 SP also gets a lighter carbon-fiber mudguard as standard.
Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP
Ducati has unveiled the Streetfighter V4 SP, a lighter version of its Streetfighter V4 super naked motorcycle. The SP moniker stands for ‘Sports production”, which is used to recognise a 'production bike with specific technical equipment that makes it faster on track.
Visually, the bodywork is identical to the Streetfighter V4, save for the carbon-fiber mudguard on the V4 SP. Painted in the special Ducati Corse Winter test colors, the bike looks quite striking. The matt carbon bi-plane wings also get a special aesthetic touch in the form of the Italian tricolour flag. Each Streetfighter V4 SP will be progressively numbered, adding to the specialness of the bike.

Being an SP model, Ducati has concentrated on reducing the weight of the motorcycle. The carbon rims, for instance, are lighter than the Superleggera V4 S’ by 1.4kg and make it easier to change direction due to reduced inertia. These wheels have also contributed to the overall weight saving of 3.4kg and the SP tips the scales at 177kg (dry).
The list of other components that have helped shed weight includes a lithium-ion battery, carbon-fibre heel guard and anodised aluminium footpegs.

The V4 SP uses the same chassis as the V4 S, including the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 electronic suspension. The only difference is that the SP uses the Panigale V4’s springs.
The SP also benefits from the new Brembo Stylema R monobloc brake calipers. These are said to offer better stopping power and improved lever stroke stability, over the course of a number of laps during a track day.
The bike is powered by the same 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine as in the V4 S. It makes 208hp at 13,000rpm and 123Nm at 9,500rpm. It has a nine-disc STM EVO-SBK dry clutch that has more effective anti-hopping during aggressive downshifts.
An optional Akrapovic full-system exhaust bumps up the power to 220hp and reduces weight by an additional 6kg.
The Streetfighter V4 SP will be available in international markets soon. As of now, there is no word of the bike making it to our shores.
