Lamborghini Huracan STO is powered by the familiar 5.2-liter V10 engine which has been tuned to develop 630 bhp and 565 Nm. This engine pushes the Huracan STO from zero to 100 km/h in three seconds.
Lamborghini has expanded the Huracan range with the new STO model that will cost you ₹4.99 crores (ex-showroom, India). This means that the STO demands a hefty premium over Huracan EVO AWD but tries to justify that price difference by offering better performance than any other Huracan model. Globally revealed last year, the Huracan STO is inspired by Huracan Super Trofeo EVO and the Huracan GT3 EVO race car that has won 24 hours Daytona championship thrice. Developed by Lamborghini’s R&D, Squadra Corse, and Centro Stile departments, the Huracan STO is the most performance-oriented Huracan ever and this is evident by the performance specs.
Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India said, "The Indian market continues to be very important for Lamborghini, representing a great opportunity for us as the country is yet to unlock its complete potential in terms of size and volumes. With the launch of our latest Lamborghini Huracán STO in India, we are confident that it will appeal to a new set of customers in the super sports car segment who are looking for an emotionally charging experience of a race car’s powerful technology in everyday driving on the roads."
Lamborghini Huracan STO is powered by the familiar 5.2-litre V10 engine which has been tuned to develop 630 bhp and 565 Nm at 6,500 rpm in combination with a seven-speed LDF dual-clutch transmission This means that the STO has marginally less torque than Huracan EVO. However, this difference is compensated by the lightweight construction of the sportscar, improved aerodynamics, and superior braking performance. As a result, the Huracan STO can go from zero to 100 km/h in three seconds.
As noted by the company, almost 75 percent of body panels of the Huracan STO use carbon fibre. The sports car also employs several design elements that reduce air drag and enhance performance. The bonnet, fenders, and the front bumpers of the Huracan STO are essentially a single part (COFANGO technique) as a weight-saving measure. The bonnet features new air ducts to not only keep the engine cool but also improve downforce while the front bumper gets a new splitter that directs airflow to the rear diffuser. The highlight has to be the rear fender derived from the Super Trofeo EVO that reduces air drag and increases downforce. This fender also has a NACA air intake while the adjustable rear wing provides additional downforce, especially while cornering. Huracan STO also makes use of carbon fibre for the cabin and gets sports seats, an 8.4-inch infotainment system with HMI (human-machine interface), and three driving modes --STO for road, Trofeo for the track, and Pioggia for rain.
