BMW has taken the wraps off all-new CE 04 electric scooter, marking the German brand's debut in the electric scooter segment.
The CE 04 has been in the making for a while and was showcased as BMW Motorrad Concept Link in 2017. The near-production model of the electric scooter was then revealed in 2020 as BMW Motorrad Definition CE 04, giving us a glimpse of the BMW electric scooter's unconventional design tenet. The interesting part is that CE 04 production model carries forward most of the futuristic styling elements from the Definition CE 04 concept. The CE 04 has a compact front apron flanked by large side panels (similar to fairing on sports bikes), raised handlebars, and a floating seat. The scooter, as standard, comes in a Light White color with matt black sections while the Avantgarde Style variant comes with Magellan Grey metallic color with black/orange seat, orange wind deflector, and body graphics.
BMW CE 04 comes equipped with a 10.25-inch TFT color screen with integrated map navigation and smartphone connectivity. BMW Motorrad's first electric scooter also gets a traction control system, dynamic traction control (optional) for enhanced stability, three riding modes -- Eco, Road, and Rain -- as standard, and optional Dynamic mode for a spirited ride.
BMW CE 04 has an 8.9 kWh battery and electric motor, which under normal conditions, makes 20 bhp but can deliver up to 41.5 bhp for a short interval. This powertrain lets the CE 04 go from zero to 50 km/h in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 120 km/h. The electric scooter can cover 130 km on a single charge and the battery can be charged from zero to 100 percent in 4 hours 20 minutes using the standard 2.3 kW charger. However, the battery can be replenished completely from zero in 1 hour 40 minutes and from 20 percent to 80 percent in 45 minutes using a 6.9 kW fast charger.

The suspension duties on BMW electric scooter are tended to by 35 mm telescopic forks with and mono-shock with swingarm while the braking hardware comprises twin front disc brakes with a single rear disc brake and ABS. However, the company also offers BMW ABS Pro (as optional equipment) that uses banking sensors to control braking on bends.
