Styrian GP 2021: Race Guide, What to expect, Our Predictions

Another race, Another Grand Prix and F1 fans are damn ready to watch the double header at Styrian for the battle between Lewis and Max. The French Grand Prix has just finished, but next weekend another race is already underway. The Formula 1 drivers will then take on each other in Austria, where a double weekend is scheduled.

At the Red Bull Ring, a battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen is once again to be expected. Although the Dutchman knows the track like the back of his hand, the Englishman will be eager to get back at his competitor. It promises to be another great spectacle, and we will have to wait and see which driver comes out on top.

Styrian GP 2021: Race Guide, What to expect, Our Predictions

First GP: 1970
Number of Laps: 71
Circuit Length: 4.318 km
Race Distance: 306.452 km
Lap Record: Carlos Sainz - 1.05.619 at Styrian GP 2020

When was the track built?

The fearsome, original Osterreichring was originated in 1969 as a replacement for the Zeltweg airfield circuit. The track known today as the Red Bull Ring was more or less created over the winter of 1995-6, when Hermann Tilke was engaged to turn the Osterreichring into a shorter, more modern race track.

When was its first Grand Prix?

The A1-Ring, as it was then called, was opened in 1996, with Formula 1 arriving at the circuit a year later. Jacques Villeneuve won the race, while Jean Alesi had a spectacular crash when his Benetton climbed up the Ferrari of Eddie Irvine. Alesi’s team mate Gerhard Berger, meanwhile, used his home Grand Prix to announce his F1 retirement.

What’s the circuit like?

It’s only wee, bless it, but the Red Bull Ring packs a lot into a short lap. The first half rewards power, as the cars blast along three straights separated by a pair of uphill right-handers. But then as the drivers work their way downhill, the circuit becomes a regular toboggan ride, as the cars canyon through a series of quick corners, including the exhilarating Rindt right-hander, named for Austria’s first F1 champion.

Why go?

Race tracks don’t come much more picturesque than the Red Bull Ring, set in an idyllic natural bowl in the Styrian mountains. That makes for a pleasant environment for a Grand Prix, while if you’re after tourist attractions to visit after the race, look no further than the museum in Graz dedicated to the city’s favourite son: Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Where is the best place to watch?

One of Formula 1’s best views is to be had at the Red Bull Ring’s ‘Nord’ grandstand, based around the outside of what used to be the Bosch Kurve at the Osterreichring. Here, you’ll have a great vantage point across much of the track as it drops away from you down the natural slope of the circuit.

Styrian Grand Prix 2021 Preditions:

The Styrian GP is no doubt will be an another exciting rivalry between Max and Lewis. The RedBull has been making its strong impact on the Mercedes since last three racs. The thriller between Max and Lewis at France GP secured first position for Max in Driver's Standing.

Not forgetting Max's teammated, Segio Perez, who has beenone of the most emerging driver this season and has been constantly chasing Max and Lewis for a while. Surely, it will be great to watch what Perez will do this weekend.

Talking about the Ferrari, they seemed to be struggling at France GP to which McLaren took an advantage and secured crucial points by overtaking Ferrari in Constructors Standing.

Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll also did a great job by earnig important points for thrie team.

AlphaTauri's Gasly has been proving himself this season by constantly earning himself 3rd or 4th row grid position. Alpine's also are trying there way out to enter into the Top 10, to which Alonso and newly awarded Ocon did a sastisfactory job last weekend.

The most struggling team Haas's Mick somehow secured his position in Q2 for the first time, but unfortunately, a crash at the end of the Q1 prevented him from participating in a race to forget, which saw an off-pace Haas going backward all race and Mazepin offered a very little other than exchanging places with his teammate.

Our race prediction winner is - MAX VERSTAPPEN.

Prediction for the Top 10 at the end of Q3:
  1. Max
  2. Lewis
  3. Bottas
  4. Perez
  5. Leclerc
  6. Gasly
  7. Sainz
  8. Lando
  9. Vettel
  10. Ocon
