New Sportier Bentley Bentayga S revealed

Bentley Motors has unveiled the new Bentayga S SUV, the latest version of its flagship model that is considered the fastest SUV in the world. The new model, the first S version since the Bentayga's debut in 2015, promises a more dynamic and sporty drive experience in this iconic SUV.

The fourth model in the Bentayga range joins the efficient plug-in Hybrid, the 4.0-liter turbocharged V8, and the powerful 6.0-litre, 12-cylinder Speed. The luxury SUV will be available in four, five, or seven-seat configurations.

The Bentayga S model comes with certain design tweaks. The chrome garnish has been mostly replaced with gloss black accents. Bentley has added dark tint lenses to headlamps and tail lamps, black door mirrors, and black split oval tailpipes. However, the 22-inch alloy wheels are not blacked out, as often done for the performance avatars of popular models to give them a more sporty appeal.

Inside, the Bentayga S has the same interior layout as the regular version but makes use of Alcantara upholstery, new seats with unique stitching, and color accents on the center console, door pads, and seat bolster. Even the graphics in the driver's instrument panel are new. But provisions like a 10.9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument console, a head-up display, and remote connected car services via embedded sim are taken from the standard Bentayga.

Powering Bentley Bentayga S is a 4.0-litre, twin-scroll turbocharged V8 petrol engine making 542 bhp and 770 Nm of peak torque. This powerplant is paired to a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission that lets the SUV go from zero to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and attain a top speed of 290 km/h. The Bentayga S gets Bentley Dynamic Ride active anti-roll control as standard. This system can counteract lateral rolling forces with up to 1,300 Nm of torque while cornering. The SUV also gets torque vectoring by brake system and an enhanced Sport mode that offers improved steering feedback and greater turn-in response along with reduced body roll.
