The recently launched Jaguar I-Pace is now available in a special BLACK edition, boosting the appeal of the brand’s groundbreaking EV with a sporty new look and an upgraded equipment specification.
The I-Pace Black follows Jaguar’s recently announced F-Type Black edition sports car and is priced from £72,445. The new model boasts a gloss black finish for the door mirrors, the grille and the grille surround, the side window surrounds and the car’s badging. Buyers also benefit from 20-inch alloy wheels - in black, naturally - a panoramic roof and privacy glass.
Inside, the new car features Ebony leather sports seats, more gloss black finishing for the trim and an Ebony headlining. An I-Pace HSE Black is also available, priced from £76,695. This is based on the higher-spec HSE trim level and features an even more luxurious kit as standard, as well as the styling additions the Black brings inside and out.
All cars feature LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated sports seats, and a heated steering wheel, keyless operation, Jaguar’s 10-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment tech, a digital dash, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, AEB, lane-keep assist and a 360-degree camera set-up, among other features.
HSE adds kits such as matrix LED headlights, a powered tailgate with gesture recognition, and the Driver Assistance Package, adding more driver assistance and safety kits, such as adaptive cruise control and blind-spot assist.
The Black models don't alter the I-Pace's powertrain. They still have electric motors making a total of 395 horsepower (294 kilowatts) and 513 pound-feet (696 Newton-meters) of torque. There's an 11-kilowatt onboard charger and 100-kilowatt DC fast charger.
According to Jag's numbers, the base I-Pace can cover 286.2 miles (460.6 kilometers) on a charge. The SE Black cuts this figure to 279.9 miles (450.5 kilometers), and the HSE Black has 279.0 miles (449 kilometers) of range.
The I-Pace's Black edition follows up on the recently introduced F-Type Black. The recipe is largely the same by adding lots of glossy, dark accents to the sports car.
