General Motors recently confirmed the arrival of the all-electric Chevrolet Silverado.

- All-electric Silverado announced by Chevy
- It will be built alongside the new Hummer EV SUV.
- Expected to be launched in 2023 or 2024
The Chevy will be selling this electric version of Silverado alongside the gas variant. The Silverado will be built in the same factory where the new Hummer EV SUV is being built and will compete with electric Ford F150 and other electric pick-up trucks which will be launching later this year. GM claims that it will offer up to 400 miles of range on a single charge, and it will feature the company's Ultium battery packs.
Chevy also said that the electric Silverado will be offered in both work-oriented fleets and snazzier retail versions. Its impending arrival won't affect the gasoline-powered Silverado for now, as Chevy says that it is planning an update for the current internal-combustion Silverado lineup, likely for the 2022 model year.
Chevy has yet to provide a timeline for when production will start on the Silverado EV. We think it will be sometime in 2023 or 2024 given the planned rollout of the Hummer truck and SUV models. GM has said that it will offer 30 new electric models by 2025 and that two-thirds of those will be available in North America.
More details will be updated here, STAY TUNED. Meanwhile, read what GM has to offer with the new HUMMER EV SUV.
