New all-electric car by BMW | The i4 | First look inside

The all-electric BMW i4 has been introduced to the world. First-ever electric m-performance model. The new BMW i4 electric car is the brand’s first electric saloon and is an alternative to the likes of the Tesla Model 3. The i4 is based on the upcoming BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe and will go on sale in Autumn 2021.

Design:-

The new BMW i4 looks fairly similar to the new BMW 4 Series from the front – its vast two-piece grille makes certain of that. However, to make sure you don’t mistake this aggressive-looking four-door coupe for petrol- or diesel-powered BMW, there are plenty of bright blue details – just like those on the BMW iX3 SUV and new iX EV.

From the side, you’ll spot that the new BMW i4 is longer than a 4 Series Coupe thanks to its extra set of doors, but its sloping roofline means it looks sleeker than a 3 Series saloon.

You’ll spot more blue trim at the back of the new BMW i4, along with a large contrasting rear diffuser – no fake exhaust trims here.

Interior:-

BMW hasn’t revealed much about the new i4’s interior yet, though the i4 Concept and the recently revealed iX SUV (shown below) both give you a good idea of what to expect.

The concept’s crystal-style surround on the rotary iDrive controller probably won’t make it to production, but the iX SUV’s huge wraparound screen on the dashboard should feature on the finished cars.

Because the BMW i4 will be similar in size to the BMW 3 Series, it should mean the i4 will be pretty spacious inside. However, the more sloping roofline – much like what you’ll get on the upcoming BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe – will likely eat into back-seat headroom.

Range:-

Just like the BMW i4 Concept, the production-ready BMW i4 is powered by a single electric motor. In its most powerful guise, BMW says the motor can produce 530hp – that’s more than you get from the 510hp twin-turbo petrol engine in the new BMW M3 Competition performance saloon or M4 Coupe. This also means it can accelerate from 0-60mph in less than four seconds.
