The S5 Sportback was launched in India back in 2017. The new model has got a lot more updates in the exterior as well as in the interior. In terms of exteriors, the car now adorned with a very sporty and quirky design. It has received a tweaked front end which includes sharper-looking LED headlamps and DRLs. The new standard Matrix LED headlamps to flank the large matte black honeycomb mesh grille studded with silver accents. Moreover, there is a new more angular bumper, quad-tip exhausts 19-inch alloy wheels and a spoiler to round off the looks.

While in some international markets the S5 is available with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, the India-spec car remains a petrol four-door coupe – under the hood sits a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 engine developing 354hp and 500Nm of torque sends power to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Audi claims a 0-100kph time of 4.8 seconds.
Audi will offer a new sports suspension that comes with damper control as an optional extra with the updated S5 Sportback.

While the interior has also got a lot of updates,

Compared to the model that was launched in India in 2017, the 2021 S5 Sportback gets a revised front fascia, with a new front bumper, revised single-frame grille and new Matrix LED headlamps with LED DRLs. At the back, the tail-lamps are new while the rear bumper to gets some cosmetic changes. There are new 19-inch alloy wheels on offer as well. There are a total of eight colour options on offer, including what Audi calls Turbo Blue, Daytona Gray, and Tango Red.

Inside, the overall layout and dashboard design remain unchanged with the most notable differences being the new 10.1-inch touchscreen replacing the old rotary-controlled MMI display and the deletion of the rotary controller entirely from the centre console. The car also gets an updated version of the Audi 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster.

Other equipment that the S5 packs in includes Alcantara leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, powered front sport seats, ambient lighting and 3-zone climate control. The S5 Sportback also gets an optional heads-up display, a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, a parking assist system.
